PK -- A menu system for PKZIP and PKUNZIP from PKWARE
The PKZIP programs work quickly, but require a large number of command-line
parameters. If a large number of files are to be ZIPPED, an ASCII file can be
created, but this requires use of another program.
PK is a menu system designed to access the most commonly used functions of the
program.
The ZIP menu allows the user to select a directory on the hard drive and ZIP all
or selected files. The program allows the user to pick from a list, then builds
an ASCII file for the ZIP program to use. It then runs the PKZIP program and
returns to its own menu.
The UNZIP program allows the user to UNZIP one file, all files or any number
while using wildcards.
The view menu allows the user to see the contents of a ZIP file. It is somewhat
slow, but eliminates much of the clutter in other ZIP viewers.
PK does not pretend to tap into the full powers of the PKZIP programs, but it
does program a quick way to perform routine functions.
The program is offered free, but comments and suggestions are encouraged via the
Exec-PC Board in Milwaukee.
The program requires that PK, PKZIP and PKUNZIP all be in the same directory.
